VK Holding has announced the launch of a new free service for organizing the work of tutors and students called VK Tutoria.
VK Tutoria is a comprehensive tool for the educational process, combining the functions of a calendar, notes, data storage from "Mail.ru Cloud", an interactive whiteboard, as well as integrated services "VK Messenger" and "VK Calls."
Authorization in the system is carried out through VK ID, and classes can be held both in the mobile and web versions of the service. Currently, the platform has no restrictions on the number of students and classes and remains free for all users.
According to RBC estimates, investments in the project range from 200 to 300 million rubles. In the future, it is planned to monetize the service through subscriptions, as one of the sources clarified.
The demand for online education remains high even after the pandemic, which is associated with the growing interest in learning foreign languages and preparing for the Unified State Exam and the Main State Exam, said Denis Kuskov, head of the TelecomDaily agency.
According to Daria Ryzhkova, head of Smart Ranking, the main risk of the project is the shortage of tutors, especially in the format of individual lessons. This may become a significant obstacle to the successful implementation and scaling of VK Tutoria.
