The modernized 2S25M self-propelled anti-tank gun has received improved armor protection to increase resistance to impacts from shells of small-caliber guns. It is being prepared for adoption into the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Rostec reported.
The modernized 2S25M self-propelled anti-tank gun has passed state tests. Following their results, adjustments were made to the design documentation, and the gun is being prepared for adoption into service. By the way, the vehicle's armor protection was improved taking into account the requirements of the Special Military Operation. Now the 2S25M has increased resistance to small-caliber gun shells.
The 2S25M was developed by the Volgograd enterprise VMK VGTZ LLC (part of Kurganmashzavod) on the basis of the 2S25 Sprut-SD self-propelled anti-tank gun with unification of units and assemblies with the chassis of the BMD-4M airborne combat vehicle.
The "floating tank" has firepower at the level of the main battle tank and is intended for equipping units of the Marine Corps and ground forces.
