The equipment was delivered by water from Volgodonsk to Paks

The engineering division of Rosatom State Corporation has delivered a core catcher to the construction site of the Paks-2 NPP in Hungary, which is an important part of the station's passive safety system, the corporation's press service reported.

The reliability and safety of the new Hungarian NPP is thus ensured long before its operation begins.

According to him, the construction of power units will begin in late 2024 or early 2025. After that, the nuclear scientists will install the core catcher.

The components of the core catcher for power unit No. 5 of the Paks NPP were delivered by water from Volgodonsk to Paks. The ships transporting the equipment covered about 3,200 km in 48 days.
