"The Gonets satellite system (part of Roscosmos) and the Scientific and Production Center (SPC) "Wings of Sakhalin" will begin working together on the development of unmanned technology and countering illegal use of UAVs. The parties signed the agreement at "Archipelago 2024."
The Gonets system will allow drones to communicate with control centers outside the coverage area of local radio communication means, as well as beyond the horizon. It will become possible to track the location of drones everywhere, transmit various information obtained by drones from remote areas, as well as control commands to the board.
In the coming years, the satellites of this group will be replaced by next-generation Gonets-M1 satellites. They will become even more powerful to provide personal satellite communications and data transmission.
JSC "Satellite System "Gonets" is actively working on the development of Russian personal satellite communication devices. A device the size of a regular smartphone is already in the certification stage. Also, mini-terminals for personal communication "Gonets-Autonomous" from the same developer and manufacturer are already undergoing testing. They can be used in remote regions of Russia, where there is no wired or mobile communication.
In addition, Roscosmos recently announced that new radio beacons for wristwatches will soon appear in Russia, which can be used in areas without stable communication.
