Russian military personnel on the front lines have begun using stationary aerostats with meter-band retransmission modules (from 30 to 180 MHz), as well as upper meter-band and lower decimeter-band wave frequencies (220 - 470 MHz).
Military analyst Evgeny Damantsev noted that in the first case, beyond-the-horizon secure voice communication and digital channel messaging are provided at distances up to 140 km, and in the second case, up to 105 km.
At the same time, the aerostat is at an altitude of about 3000 m, and the repeater is powered by a ground power unit and provides data exchange between the base station of the motorized rifle brigade command post and consumers at the line of combat contact via secure radio communication channels.
Damantsev explained that in the case of deploying tethered airships with greater lifting capacity, it will be possible to equip them with multifunctional suspended radars, which will provide continuous monitoring of low-altitude sectors of airspace for the appearance of UAVs or low-observable tactical cruise missiles of the enemy at distances up to 100 km.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the Russian Armed Forces received the first FPV drone "Piranha-13". The drone can perform remote mining and deliver ammunition.
