Crews of two-seat multirole 4+ generation air superiority fighters Su-30SM2 practiced bombing and covering ground troops from the air during exercises. The maneuvers took place at a training ground in the Kaliningrad region, the Baltic Fleet press service reported.
The pilots flew to a designated square, checked the ground situation, and then struck a mock enemy with OFAB-100-120 high-explosive fragmentation bombs. They also fired cannon armament at targets simulating enemy manpower and equipment. The maneuvers involved crews of several Su-30SM2s and about 50 engineering and technical personnel.
