Небесный щит: ЗРК «Бук-М2» стал панацеей от ракет HIMARS

Buk-M2 is capable of intercepting HIMARS missiles at an altitude of up to 25 km

Russian military personnel on the front lines reliably cover the sky with Buk-M2 anti-aircraft missile systems. The key components of the system are the quadruple 9A317 self-propelled firing units, equipped with 4 9M317 interceptor missiles and 9S36 target illumination radars.

Illumination of low-altitude targets, including SCALP-EG and R-360 Neptune missiles, to the 9E420 semi-active radar homing heads of 9M317 missiles can be carried out by 9S36 illumination radars located on separate elbow-shaped universal towers.

M31A1 GMLRS guided missiles of HIMARS systems are detected at a distance of 50 - 45 km and captured for accurate auto-tracking at a distance of about 37 km. Each 9S36 illumination radar has 4 target channels, a Buk-M2 SAM battery of 6 9A317 self-propelled guns - up to 24 target channels.

The elevation angle of the 9S36 target illumination radar beam in tracking mode reaches 85 degrees, which makes it possible to work on ballistic targets with speeds up to 1100 m/s. The height of intercepted objects reaches 25 km. A mode for engaging ground targets with the use of radio correction mode is also implemented.

Earlier www1.ru reported that in Russia tested the Aegida-U protective armored blanket for equipment. It provides protection against shell fragments and strike drones.
