The LADA Niva Sport car, which is scheduled to begin production before the end of the year, has been assembled in two copies. One of them, or perhaps both at once, were supposed to be shown to AvtoVAZ head Maxim Sokolov on June 26. This was reported by insiders.
In total, two such SUVs were assembled. Three were planned, but the third one didn't work out for various reasons.
It is worth recalling that the car will be assembled by the «Lada sport» enterprise. The car is supposed to have a modified engine from the sporty Granta, a unified control of the transfer case and differential lock. The SUV's steering wheel is trimmed with leather, the seats are sporty, and the door cards are with decorative inserts.
The car prototype was first shown in February of this year at the «Zhiguli Mile», which takes place on the waters of the Zhiguli Reservoir in Tolyatti. During the competition, participants tried to set a speed record over two distances — 1642 meters and 1433 meters.
