The "High-Precision Systems" holding (part of Rostec) has expressed its readiness to increase deliveries of the Pantsir anti-aircraft missile and gun system (SAM) to the Armed Forces in 2024.
Currently, preparations are underway to increase production capacity in order to increase the production of products on the "Pantsir" theme, including through the use of funds received as part of subsidies. The company is ready to increase deliveries this year, and is preparing for next year.
The self-propelled Pantsir SAM system is designed for close-range defense of civilian and military facilities, as well as for covering long-range air defense systems. The Russian Armed Forces use the Pantsir-S1 modification with a target acquisition and tracking system. It is capable of destroying aerial targets at a distance of 200 m to 20 km, flying at speeds up to 1 thousand m/s.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Rostec produced a new mini-missile for the Pantsir SAM system. It will help in the fight against drones and other small aerial targets.
