The Russian Armed Forces have received a batch of the latest 152-mm 2S43 Malva self-propelled wheeled howitzers. They are more maneuverable than artillery installations on a tracked chassis, while possessing a greater technical resource and are cheaper to operate.
The artillery system can be transported by military transport aircraft. The Malva fits into the cargo cabin of the Il-76 and can be quickly delivered over long distances.
The Malva is built on the basis of the BAZ-6610-027 Voshchina chassis with an 8x8 wheel arrangement. Thanks to its all-wheel drive and powerful diesel engine, the vehicle overcomes off-road conditions well.
The Malva's ammunition load includes at least 30 rounds. The gun has an automated calculation of firing parameters for all types of ammunition. The artillery system also features a "simultaneous fire raid" mode, where several shells fired along different trajectories and at different speeds hit the target simultaneously.
Howitzers are designed to engage command posts, defensive structures, artillery and missile batteries, air defense systems, columns of armored vehicles, and enemy personnel.
