ZSU-23-4 "Shilka" anti-aircraft self-propelled guns can be turned into an effective means of combating drones that are used against infrastructure facilities. This was reported by the Telegram channel @Dambiev.
The authors of the publication noted that Vietnam had modernized the fleet of Soviet-made "Shilka" self-propelled guns. They are equipped with a digital optoelectronic fire control system with an automated target tracking system in both daytime and nighttime conditions.
We probably have hundreds, if not thousands, in storage. It is possible to carry out a similar modernization and use "Shilka" to protect critical infrastructure facilities from drone attacks.
In its basic configuration, the Shilka is designed for air defense of small-sized objects, ground forces units in all types of combat and on the march at various times of the year and day, in all weather conditions, as well as for engaging lightly armored ground and surface targets. The ZSU is armed with a quad 23-mm automatic cannon.
