Zeekr (a brand owned by Geely) has banned Chinese dealers from selling Zeekr electric vehicles to Russia from June 30. The official reasons for this decision have not been announced.
Now, of course, those dealers who have money will stock up. Maybe this is necessary to stir up sales.
He called the actions of the Chinese company strange, since Zeekr was not officially represented on the Russian market and arrived through "gray" imports, and the cars were in demand.
Maxim Kadakov, editor-in-chief of the magazine "Za Rulem", is not at all surprised by such actions by Geely. He recalled that in 2023, Valery Tarakanov, director of the Geely representative office for operational issues, said that the Zeekr brand would not enter the Russian market.
The auto journalist noted that sales of the electric vehicle will continue, only it will be imported from other countries.
Belarus, for example, suddenly started buying a lot of Zeekr with a Russified multimedia system – why do they need so many?
As a reminder, the cost of an electric vehicle starts from 5,950,000 rubles on sales platforms.
