Yellow information terminals were previously used at Moscow Metro stations to top up and activate the Muscovite card and "Troika". Now this function is performed by the turnstiles themselves — the yellow terminals are being dismantled. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport, Maxim Liksutov.
The new quick top-up service for travel cards via turnstiles has been tested by passengers since May of this year in the capital's metro and the MCC (Moscow Central Circle). During this time, the service has been successfully used almost 400 thousand times.
Now there is no need to go to the yellow terminals — this will save Muscovites up to 20 minutes of travel time per month. On behalf of Sergei Sobyanin, we are making passenger services even simpler and more convenient.
Time is saved due to the lack of need to stand in line at the terminal. The passenger can top up the card in any convenient way, and then activate it while passing through the turnstile.
You can top up a virtual "Troika" card or a Muscovite card online using the "Moscow Metro" application, vending machines and ticket machines of the metro, as well as validators of ground transport.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that a virtual transport card "Troika" started working in Moscow.
