Top up - go through: Yellow information terminals are being removed in the Moscow Metro

New solution will save passengers time

Previously, yellow information terminals were used at Moscow Metro stations to top up and activate the Muscovite card and "Troika". Now, this function is performed by the turnstiles themselves - the yellow terminals are being dismantled. This was announced by Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport Maxim Liksutov.

The new express travel card top-up service through turnstiles has been tested by passengers since May of this year in the capital's metro and the MCC (Moscow Central Circle). During this time, the service has been successfully used almost 400 thousand times.

Now there is no need to go to the yellow terminals - this will save Muscovites up to 20 minutes of travel time per month. On behalf of Sergei Sobyanin, we are making passenger services even simpler and more convenient.
Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport

Time is saved due to the lack of need to stand in line at the terminal. Passengers can top up their card in any convenient way, and then activate it while passing through the turnstile.

You can top up a virtual "Troika" card or a Muscovite card online using the "Moscow Metro" application, vending machines and ticket machines in the metro, as well as validators on наземного транспорта.

Earlier www1.ru reported that a virtual transport card "Troika" started working in Moscow.
