The "National Technological Initiative" (NTI) Fund will invest up to 270 million rubles in the certification and mass production of the R-75 vertical take-off and landing aircraft-type drone. The UAV was developed by the Russian company Ecolibri. This was reported by the NTI press service.
The money will be provided in several tranches, with the first tranche being used by the company to accelerate the certification of the UAV's standard design.
According to the head of the NTI Fund, Vladimir Kompaneyshchikov, certification is needed to confirm the possibility of operating the UAV in the most difficult conditions and with expensive payloads. The R-75 tests will be held in the Moscow, Ryazan, and Novgorod regions, as well as in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
Ecolibri expects that the aircraft-type UAV will be in demand in the domestic market and among foreign customers. Attracting funds from the fund will help to refine the drone, replacing some imported components with parts of Russian production, the NTI press service summarized.
