Автомобили под брендом Maxeed начнут выпускать на бывшем заводе Mercedes

Likely, these will be Exeed crossovers

According to insiders, Maxeed-branded cars may begin to be assembled in the village of Esipovo near Moscow. The former Mercedes plant is located there. It is not yet known exactly what kind of cars they will be, but indirectly, they are renamed Exeed crossovers from Chery.

Firstly, a car kit and a robot resembling the front of an Exeed crossover were presented at the Moscow Region stand at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum. Secondly, it became known earlier that in December, a batch of Exeed VX was assembled at an industrial enterprise, which did not go on sale due to the high cost. The cars turned out to be 50% more expensive than those assembled in China. Finally, the plant received OTTS for the Exeed TXL and VX models.

A source in the automotive industry believes that up to 120,000 cars of the new brand can be produced per year. First, they will start assembling cars with internal combustion engines, then they will work on hybrids, and then on electric vehicles. Car kits have already been delivered to the enterprise. The government of the Moscow Region declined to comment.

As a reminder, the former Mercedes plant belongs to the Avtodom group. The co-owner of the group, Andrey Olkhovsky, previously spoke about plans to produce cars under his own brand. The businessman emphasized that negotiations were held with all Chinese manufacturers except Haval.

Note that an agreement was also signed at the SPIEF on the production of Aurus cars in St. Petersburg. The document was signed by the manufacturer of premium SUVs and the government of St. Petersburg. The now former head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Denis Manturov, said in May that the assembly of Aurus would start in the Northern capital at the end of the year.
