The 2K22M1 Tunguska-M1 anti-aircraft missile and gun systems (SAMG) of the 2003 model are the predecessors of the military modification of the Pantsir-SM-SV SAMG system on a tracked chassis. However, despite the lower energy potential and lower target channel capacity of the tracking radar, the complex remains in demand in air defense units, according to military analyst Yevgeny Damantsev.
The effectiveness of each combat vehicle has significantly increased thanks to the equipment with a tactical information exchange and target distribution terminal as part of the battery. More high-energy external 9S18M1 Kupol radar stations are capable of detecting enemy tactical missiles and drones at a distance of up to 25 kilometers and transmitting target designation to the unified battery command post "Ranzhir" with distribution between Tunguska-M1s for strikes with 9M331M missiles.
Also, the calculations of the Tunguska-M1 SAMG system can pre-orient combat modules with 1RL144 radar posts and optoelectronic sights for detection and guidance in the direction of approaching small-sized objects. Interception of such targets can be carried out at a distance of 7 - 3.5 km.
There is also information about the development and implementation of innovative 30 mm caliber shells with remote detonation in the Tunguska-M1 system. The detonation of shrapnel warheads of such shells can be carried out either by laser-beam method or by a command transmitted via radio channel. For this, data obtained from laser rangefinders are used. In addition, the possibility of integrating these shells into the guidance systems of Ka-band millimeter-wave radar stations with increased resolution and reduced error in determining the distance to the target is being considered.
At the same time, the maximum speed of targets hit by the Tunguska-M1 SAMG system is limited to 500 m/s, and the range and altitude of targets hit by 9M331M missiles are 12 and 3.5 km, respectively. The destruction of targets by paired 30-mm anti-aircraft machine guns is 4 and 3 km, respectively, with a rate of fire of up to 4500 - 5000 rounds per minute.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that T-90M Proryv tanks and the "flying" T-80BVM can receive multi-purpose tactical missiles with Sokol-V homing heads. ZALA 421-16E and S350M Supercam optoelectronic reconnaissance drones provide the Sokol-V missile with the ability to engage from closed firing positions according to the "fire-and-forget" principle.
