The Russian military has begun to successfully repel attacks by surface drones in the Black Sea with small arms fire from helicopters, according to Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
The latest such battle took place in mid-May in the Crimea region, in the Black Sea. разведка discovered 12 naval drones at once, but they were effectively eliminated by missile and machine gun fire from a naval aviation helicopter. It is noted that they coped with the task thanks to the Kalashnikov hand-held machine gun (RPK) installed in the doorway.
At the same time, the military admits that the single-barreled machine gun lacks fire density and rate of fire. In particular, information has appeared that tests of the modified four-barreled 7.62-mm GShG-7.62 machine gun are being completed. More than half a century ago, Glagolev, Shipunov and Gryazev designed this machine gun with a rotating barrel block as an aircraft machine gun.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russian engineers have reached the final stage of creating a shipborne version of the kamikaze drone. Preliminary, it can be used against light boats, motor boats and unmanned boats.
