The installation of the refueling machine has been completed at the first power unit of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant (NPP) under construction in Turkey. The equipment is necessary for moving fuel assemblies with fuel inside the reactor compartment, the Rosatom press service reported.
Accuracy is important in the operation of the refueling machine. With an equipment weight of 31.6 tons, the permissible error in performing operations is no more than 2 mm.
According to Sergei Butskikh, Director of Akkuyu NPP, the completion of the installation of the refueling machine is an important milestone in the project implementation.
This confirms the NPP's readiness for subsequent work, including testing and commissioning of the first power unit.
The construction of the Akkuyu NPP by Rosatom specialists is the largest project of Russia and Turkey.
