Shadaev: It is Necessary to Create an Incentive for Businesses to Switch to Russian Software

Russian authorities should introduce economic incentives for businesses to switch to domestic software. This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation, Maksut Shadaev, at the TAdviser SummIT forum.

If you use foreign software, we are in any case discussing the introduction of a certain fee, a levy for the use of foreign software.
Maksut Shadaev, Head of the Ministry of Digital Development

At the same time, the minister pointed out that the authorities could reduce the tax burden on companies implementing Russian software. Such decisions are expected, he added.

The Ministry of Digital Development also plans to prohibit state-owned companies from funding the development of basic software if there are analogues on the market.

According to President Vladimir Putin's decree, by 2030, at least 80% of companies from key sectors of the economy must switch to Russian software. The Ministry of Digital Development believes that about 174 billion rubles will be needed for its development.
