The military-industrial holding "Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant" (KMZ) won the tender for the production and supply of 199 multi-purpose boats to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia. The total order amount will be 2.76 billion rubles.
The director of the holding, Mikhail Danilenko, noted that the plant will build boats of three types: RX-1173 high-speed all-weather boats, RPK-640 patrol boats, and PK-500 pleasure boats. The boats range in length from five to 16 meters.
The main profile of the shipbuilding division of KMZ is special-purpose boats. Most of the mass-produced vessels are made of several materials: marine aluminum, plastic, and metal.
The company's production sites are located in the village of Nazia in the Leningrad Region and in Peterhof. Their total area exceeds 12,000 m².
Earlier www1.ru reported that a new unmanned boat will appear in Russia, and sea trials are scheduled for the summer of 2024.
