In 2023, the share of industries in Russia that are highly dependent on foreign equipment decreased to 43%. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, citing the results of a survey of domestic industrialists as part of monitoring the implementation of the import substitution program.
The study involved more than 1,000 medium and large companies from 30 regions, operating in the main industrial sectors. The leaders in terms of import substitution were the following areas: production of PCs and optical products, electrical equipment, medicines, cars and trailers, coke and petroleum products.
The press service of the Ministry of Industry and Trade emphasized that the dependence of manufacturers on imported components decreased to 35%, and on raw materials — to 18%, on technologies — to 14%. In addition, in 15 out of 23 manufacturing industries, Russian equipment began to be used, which in its characteristics is not inferior to foreign equipment.
