Mooring and sea trials of a new raid and utility boat for the Pacific Fleet are being conducted in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. This vessel of project 02221 is part of a program for the large-scale rearmament of the Russian army and navy.
The date of the boat's acceptance ceremony into the Pacific Fleet has not yet been set. However, the crew has already been trained in operating the boat and working on it.
The project 02221 boat with a displacement of 40 tons was built at the Yaroslavl Shipyard. Its length is only 19.7 meters, and its width is 4 meters. The 150 hp engine helps the boat reach speeds of up to 10.3 knots. The crew of four performs simple tasks: transporting personnel of up to twelve passengers or small cargo within the inner and outer roads and at the basing points of the Pacific Fleet.
A distinctive feature of this boat is that it can be delivered to the mission site by rail.
