The Public Council for the Development of Taxis has appealed to presidential aide Igor Levitin with a proposal to create federal and regional programs to support the renewal of Russian taxi fleets. The fact is that in February, the preferential car leasing program for passenger cars ceased to operate in Russia. It was under this program that taxi fleets purchased cars.
Currently, this program does not apply to passenger cars with internal combustion engines. Thus, the industry has lost its last opportunity for support from the state.
It is noted that the taxi industry has been under economic pressure in recent years, which leads to problems with the renewal of taxi fleets in cities. Thus, in the capital, the average age of a taxi is 3.5 years, and in other cities it has grown even more. At the same time, previously in the regions, taxi cars were operated from four to five years, now the period of use has become more than five years. The reasons for the aging of taxi fleets are the shortage of affordable cars and the lack of state support for the industry.
Earlier, www1.ru wrote that in Russia they proposed to tighten control over the technical inspection of buses, trucks and taxis.
