Russian servicemen have destroyed a heavy Baba Yaga copter with the help of the Kornet anti-tank missile system (ATGM), the Defense Ministry said. The drone, which was cruising at low altitude, was hit by the first launch of an anti-tank missile. The Baba Yaga was smashed to smithereens.
The press service of the Kalashnikov Group explained that the "heart" of the Kornet ATGM is the 1P45-1 sighting device (developed by specialists from TsNIITOCHMASH). Despite natural interference, including explosions or fire, the missile does not change course and moves steadily towards the target. This makes it possible to hit various targets: drones, Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, Leopard tanks, Challenger and other Western equipment.
The Kornet ATGM is manufactured by the High-Precision Complexes holding (part of the Kalashnikov Group). The complex is one of the most effective types of weapons used by Russian servicemen.
The modular design of the launcher allows the complex to be placed on a wide range of wheeled and tracked vehicles
The Kornet ATGM is also part of the armament of the Berezhok combat module on the BMP-2M. These combat vehicles are now being supplied to the troops ahead of schedule as part of the state defense order.
