The Moscow State Traffic Inspectorate has announced a preventive raid to identify and prevent violations by drivers of personal mobility devices (PMD). Violators on scooters will be sought in the capital from April 19 to 21.
From April 19 to 21, an event will be held in Moscow to prevent offenses related to the use of personal mobility devices and bicycles
The key objective of the inspection is to improve the safety of e-scooter users, including children. The event aims to promote a safe driving culture and prevent injuries to PMD users.
The press service of the Traffic Police emphasized that when riding an e-scooter, it is necessary to follow a number of rules: be as attentive as possible, do not ride PMDs together at the same time, dismount the vehicle at crossings and walk, do not be distracted by the phone, and hold the handlebars firmly with both hands while riding.
It is worth noting that PMDs have become particularly popular among citizens in recent years. In Russia, 21 million people used kick-sharing services in 2023. The total number of trips for the previous season was 211.7 million. Industry analysts predict further growth in demand for PMDs among residents of megacities.
It was previously reported that a bill proposing an increase in fines for improper use of e-scooters and bicycles has already been submitted to the State Duma.
