"RESHETNEV" announces a new stage in preparation for the launch of modernized Gonets series satellites, called "Gonets-M1," in 2027. A new ground communication complex is being prepared for this personal satellite communication and data transmission system.
The ground communication complex will include regional stations located in different territories of Russia. They will provide reception and transmission of information from spacecraft. Currently, design documentation for the ground communication complex is being produced. Completion of this work will allow us to start manufacturing the stations.
By 2029, the new generation Gonets-M1 satellite system will include 28 spacecraft. Like the previous Gonets, they will be located in low Earth orbit at 1,500 km. Gonets-M1 will be multifunctional: they will provide voice satellite communications, Internet access, satellite monitoring, and the development of the Internet of Things.
One of the key goals of this satellite constellation is Russia's independence from foreign satellite operators in terms of shipping. It is assumed that Gonets-M1 will also provide services related to shipping to countries friendly to Russia.
