Алтайский «Тарантул-птицелов» начал охотиться на беспилотники

The developers of the drone fighter took the principle of operation from wildlife

Altai engineers have developed and tested a net-shooting drone hunter called "Tarantula-Fisher." A video of the tests and operation of the device has appeared online.

The drone is equipped with a net that resembles a spider's web. When approaching an enemy drone, it shoots this net at it – a similar mechanism is found in insects in the wild. The net blocks the movement of the enemy drone, its propellers stop working, and it falls to the ground.

The technical characteristics of the "Tarantula-Fisher" and the number of drones that it can catch in one flight are not disclosed.
