GAZ Automobile Plant, located in Nizhny Novgorod, will register the Volga trademark under 22 classes of the international classification of goods and services. Under this brand, GAZ will be able to produce cars, buses, stationery, spare parts, accessories and jewelry, as well as clothing and footwear. It is possible that the Volga trademark will be used on a new car from the plant, as GAZ plans to revive the production of passenger cars under a domestic brand.
The Telegram channel "Avtopotok" published an image of the new Volga corporate logo. It does not resemble the nameplates that were previously installed on classic "Volgas".
It is worth recalling that last year, Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov stated that in mid-2024, the Gorky Automobile Plant will present a new car. GAZ will assemble it with an unnamed technological partner. Governor Gleb Nikitin expressed hope that the production of cars under their own brands will be resumed in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
