Чеченские инженеры создали первый в России акустический детектор «Малик»

It detects drones, rangefinders, lasers of anti-tank guided missiles, and sniper scopes

The Grozny-based design bureau "Tallamkho" has developed Russia's first acoustic detector, "Malik." It is capable of detecting any type of drone, regardless of the frequencies they use. The detector can also detect rangefinders, lasers of anti-tank guided missiles, and sniper scopes of a hypothetical enemy.

According to representatives of the "Malik" developers to IA "TASS," with the development of technology, the range of use of modern UAVs is rapidly changing. Common drone detection tools in Russia are designed only for certain frequencies most often used in global practice.

However, no matter what frequencies a drone operates on, it still makes sounds when working. Different drones hum slightly differently in different situations, so we are collecting a library of signatures, the peculiarities of drone sounds, and uploading them to the server. People using "Malik" detectors can connect them to the internet and automatically replenish the list of signatures.

The device also detects the sounds made by rangefinders, lasers of anti-tank guided missiles, and sniper scopes. The human ear cannot hear them.

Tests were conducted, and at a distance of 700 meters, the device detects that a rangefinder is measuring the distance towards us. We also assume that "Malik" will be able to detect the beam of the MANPADS Stinger, which is guided by a double laser in the infrared and ultraviolet ranges. In the future, this option will be tested during trials.

The acoustic detector is developed in two modifications. The basic version is designed to protect dugouts, trenches, and transport. The individual, "Malik-mini," is hung on military body armor and avoids additional personnel losses from enemy attacks.
