Let us remind you that the Nissan plant in St. Petersburg belonged to AvtoVAZ. They planned to produce "Chinese" FAW Bestune T77 under the name Lada X-Cross 5 there, but the Russian auto giant was included in the list of sanctioned companies and, it seems, the FAW Bestune T77 production has been abandoned. The site was transferred to the ownership of NAMI, which had previously acquired it from the Japanese concern.
We gave it back to the state. Now it is an independent factory unit
As RBC became aware in mid-February, AvtoVAZ, with a new Chinese partner, began restarting the Avtozavod St. Petersburg enterprise. At the end of January, a new brand was introduced — XCITE.
According to the press service of the plant, the first car was supposed to be presented at the end of February, but apparently the new package of sanctions shifted this process to the right.
