A branch of the Minsk Tractor Plant (MTZ) - the Smorgon Aggregate Plant will launch serial production of the Belarus lawnmower in the second quarter of 2024, operating in mulching and grass discharge modes, said the Deputy Head of MTZ OJSC, Vladimir Karpyak.
According to him, communal services in Belarus currently use imported lawnmowers. The cost of Belarus is lower than foreign counterparts, and it will not be inferior to them in terms of quality and functionality.
It is known that a prototype of the equipment was manufactured at the end of 2023. Belarus tests were carried out in the Minskzelenstroy communal organization. Following the tests, it was decided to increase the capacity of the fuel tank and the frequency of the deck stroke.
The Belarus lawnmower is designed for mowing grass in yards and parks. The equipment is equipped with a hydromechanical transmission and a RATO gasoline engine. In the spring of 2024, 40 new lawnmowers will be delivered to communal enterprises in Minsk.
It was previously reported that a subsidiary MTZ enterprise in Yelabuga will launch the production of BELARUS 1221.3 tractors.
