Every fourth motorist (25%) in Russia has expressed a desire to switch from a traditional car with an internal combustion engine (ICE) to an electric car, which is confirmed by research results.
39% of Russians aged 18 to 25 expressed readiness to become an electric car driver. Among those who don't mind their vehicle running on electricity, 26% consider Russian brand electric cars. Another 74% would like to buy a foreign electric car.
As for the cost of such a car, 82% of respondents agree to spend no more than 2 million rubles. Another 17% can spend up to 5 million rubles on this purpose, only 1% of the respondents are ready to pay up to 10 million rubles.
If we talk about buying an electric car today, then 29% are not ready to do it due to the poorly developed service infrastructure. Another 25% of Russians are deterred by the high cost of an electric car.
At the same time, 12% of respondents pointed out the weak battery of the vehicle and the need for frequent recharging. About 4% of respondents believe that there are not enough electric car models on the market, and the range needs to be expanded. And 24% of the survey participants are still satisfied with their ICE cars.
Experts note that the Russian market for electric cars is actively taking shape. The population's loyalty to such cars is growing, so in the coming years the demand for them will also increase.
