According to the company's estimates, if the Russian Aurus Merlon motorcycle were already available for sale, its estimated cost would range from 10 to 12 million rubles. This statement was made by an official representative of Aurus during the MIMS Automobility Moscow exhibition. In turn, the American Curtiss motorcycle, considered one of the main competitors of the Aurus Merlon, is estimated at 14 million rubles.
At the moment, limited production of Aurus Merlon has already begun. The first eight motorcycles will be presented at the inauguration ceremony of the president after the 2024 elections. In total, it is planned to produce approximately 40 electric motorcycles by the end of next year.
Approximately 40 motorcycles will be transferred to service in 2024: one half with a [side] trailer, the other half without it.
At the moment, commercial plans for the development of the Aurus Merlon project have not been determined. However, the company already has a ready-made design that will be available after the motorcycle enters service.
According to the Aurus representative, the power plant will also be provided for the commercial version of the motorcycle, but the details of the commercial version have not yet been disclosed. At the same time, it is emphasized that the entire structure has successfully passed patenting, certification and testing. Aurus Merlon will be equipped with a 190-horsepower engine, with a range of 200 km and the ability to accelerate to 100 km/h in less than 4 seconds.
