After a successful release of a test batch of payment stickers, Sberbank decided to release a new batch: its volume will be several times larger than the previous one, and the stickers themselves will be improved.
"In July, we will release a new batch of payment stickers with several original designs for the customer to choose from. We are still determining the exact amount - it will depend on the demand of our customers, but it will certainly be larger than the previous volume. I remind you that in February, we released 100 thousand stickers for our customers, which were all taken within a few hours. During this time, we carefully studied the user experience and made a number of improvements to the stickers", - said the first deputy chairman of the board of Sberbank, Kirill Tsarev. The press service of Sberbank clarified that the bank plans to release up to half a million stickers.
"The payment sticker is a variant of the Sberbank debit card "Mir". Therefore, the parameters of its use are similar. You can set up a PIN code, set a spending limit and restrictions on operations, or block the sticker in case of loss. First and foremost, the technology is needed by iPhone owners who are used to making contactless payments. The sticker is attached to the smartphone and looks like a regular bank card, but several times smaller. The user just needs to break off the part intended for attachment, remove the protective layer and stick the sticker on the back of the smartphone. You can pay with the sticker wherever there is a terminal for contactless payments, withdraw cash in ATMs with contactless authorization", - added Tsarev.
