The speed of the Russian medium-range ballistic missile (MRBM) "Oreshnik" leaves air defense systems only a few seconds to react, which is extremely difficult. The interception accuracy must be within a few meters.
The chances of intercepting "Oreshnik" are less than 1%. It would take more than 100 anti-missiles to reliably stop just one domestic missile. "Oreshnik" weighs about 1,500 tons, and at the moment of diving it reaches a speed of Mach 10.
Currently, according to data from open sources, Russia has about 20 units of "Oreshnik". Serial production of this type of weapon was supposed to begin at the end of 2024. The range is about 3,100 miles, and the missile is capable of reaching any point in Europe.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Tu-160M bomber surpassed the American B-1 Lancer: greater flight range and combat load.
