To prevent kamikaze drone attacks on oil refineries, it is necessary to deploy Tor-M2 and Gibka-S anti-aircraft missile systems (SAMs) on lattice towers up to 30 m high near them. This was stated by military expert Evgeny Damantsev.
In order to prevent the breakthrough of enemy kamikaze drones to refineries and oil depots, two to three Tor-M2 SAMs, as well as five to six Gibka-S military SAMs equipped with 9M336 Verba anti-aircraft missiles with a range of 6 km with bispectral homing heads, should be deployed radially from such facilities. All assets must be deployed exclusively on lattice towers with a height of 20 - 30 m, depending on the terrain.
Main characteristics of the Gibka-S SAM:
- Ammunition load — 8 missiles
- Number of fire channels — 3
- Combat use modes — autonomously or under the control of a higher command post
Tor-M2 is capable of hitting drones, as well as air-to-surface missiles, guided and adjustable aerial bombs, anti-radar and cruise missiles, as well as airplanes and helicopters.
Brief tactical and technical characteristics of the Tor-M2 SAM
- Engagement range — 16 km
- Altitude of engagement — up to 10 km
- Maximum speed of targets engaged — 1000 m/s
- Number of simultaneously tracked targets — 48
- Number of simultaneously engaged targets — 4
