A video from the indicator of the multi-channel sight of the gunner-operator of a tank support fighting vehicle (BMPT) has appeared on the Web. The footage shows the use of an 9M120-1 Ataka-T anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) against armored vehicles from a distance of 3545 m.
The Ataka-T missile, controlled by a semi-automatic laser-beam channel, covered the trajectory in just 9 seconds. Military analyst Evgeny Damantsev clarified that the average speed of the ammunition was 395 m/s.
The range of these missiles under favorable meteorological conditions can reach 6000 m. Armor penetration behind dynamic protection (DZ) is 850-900 mm, without DZ - 950 mm, ensuring the destruction of all types of Western main tanks in the side projection of turrets and hulls.
Also, 9M120-1 missiles have modular equipment, represented by tandem cumulative, fragmentation-high-explosive and thermobaric warheads.
Characteristics of the Ataka-T ATGM:
- Maximum firing range - from 400 m to 6000 m
- Detonator arming range - from 50 to 200 m
- Maximum flight speed - 550 m/s
- Warhead caliber - 130 mm
- Missile length - 1830 mm
- Missile length in flight - 2100 mm
