Repair of damaged electrical equipment at the Zaporizhzhia Thermal Power Plant (TPP) for power supply to the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) during the ceasefire will take about a week. This was stated by Evgenia Yashina, Communications Director of the ZNPP.

According to her, the repair is still ongoing, and specialists are working according to schedule.

On Thursday, October 15, Rosatom announced that a local ceasefire regime had been declared in the area of the Zaporizhzhia TPP with the mediation of the IAEA. During the cessation of hostilities, work will be carried out on the affected infrastructure.

Currently, the ZNPP receives external power supply via the backup high-voltage line "Ferrosplavnaya-1" with a voltage of 330 kV. The power transmission line (PTL) comes from the right bank of the Dnieper.

Recently, the station has been without external power supply more than 20 times. Restoration of equipment at the Zaporizhzhia TPP will reduce the risks of blackouts at the NPP.

The Zaporizhzhia NPP, with six power units, was built from 1979 to 1993. Electricity generation at the station was stopped in 2022. The operator is JSC "Operating Organization of the Zaporizhzhia NPP," established by Rosenergoatom (part of Rosatom).
