Russian industry must increase the production of powerful gas turbines to 12 units per year from 2029. In 2028, it is planned to produce 10 units annually. The Minister of Industry and Trade, Anton Alikhanov, announced the plans to increase production.

The Minister reminded that the Russian government has prepared and approved the energy strategy of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2050.

It is clear that it will change, constantly transform, and be refined taking into account, among other things, new technologies. I mean, for example, lithium-ion energy storage devices, which have performed very well this summer season in southern Russia. But if we talk about the equipment that primarily interests the Ministry of Energy and generators - these are high-power gas turbine units. This nomenclature will increase in annual production volume to 10 units from 2028 and from 2029, taking into account all our current investment projects, it should reach 12 units per year.

Over the year, production should increase by another two units, or by 20% relative to the 2028 target. These turbines are needed for the construction and expansion of power plants: powerful gas turbine generation allows meeting the growing demand for electricity.

According to Alikhanov, the planned volumes should fully cover the needs of growing generation in powerful gas turbine units. At the same time, the mentioned figures remain planned indicators. The Minister did not specify which models will be included in the annual production and how the volumes will be distributed among manufacturers.
