Russian algorithms for controlling drone swarms are not just keeping pace with the times — in some areas, they are ahead of foreign developments. This was stated in an interview with RIA Novosti by Gennady Krasnikov, head of the Russian Academy of Sciences and a specialist in micro- and nanoelectronics.

According to him, the key advantage of domestic approaches lies in the efficiency of interaction within the swarm and the development of a strategy for the entire group of machines. New approaches are not only comparable to global ones but sometimes surpass them, for example, in terms of interaction efficiency and strategy development for a drone swarm, the academician emphasized.
Krasnikov noted that swarm control has become the main trend in the development of unmanned aviation today. The reason is simple: one operator can barely cope with one or two drones, and their number in the sky is growing, and tasks are becoming more complex. Drones have a specific task, but the algorithm, depending on the situation, decides how to avoid collisions, at what distance to keep, and at the same time effectively achieve the set goal.
Many teams are working on algorithms that allow swarms to interact, taking into account constantly changing circumstances and sometimes incomplete information. A lot of successful, effective work is being done.
