Engineers from the company "Arkodim" (Tatarstan) have developed an anti-drone turret with software (SW) that allows automatic interception of enemy drones. The installation will be part of an air defense system, the Center for Unmanned Systems and Technologies (CUST) said.

The weapon will be able to hit aircraft-type UAVs at a range of up to 1 km, spending 30-50 shots to eliminate one drone. This indicator will be achieved by firing at the lead point, which is calculated by the software.

In addition to the turret with a machine gun, the air defense system will include a guidance tower and an interceptor drone with an onboard homing system to combat enemy drones at a distance of several kilometers. Currently, Arkodim specialists are testing its elements, the center added.

The developers plan to automate combat operations — after detecting and acquiring a target, the serviceman will decide whether to destroy it. According to their estimates, the probability of destroying the target will exceed 90%, the CUST representative concluded.
