Roscosmos cosmonauts Oleg Kononenko and Alexander Grebenkin practiced actions in emergency situations during a spacewalk. The training took place in the hydrolaboratory of the Cosmonaut Training Center.

The participants practiced two emergency scenarios. The first was a breach of the exit hatch's airtightness after completing work and the need to urgently move to a backup airlock. The second was one of the cosmonauts losing consciousness or a malfunction of their spacesuit.
In the hydrolaboratory, specialists use water and a system of weights to achieve neutral buoyancy for Orlan spacesuits and simulate conditions close to working in orbit. Mock-ups of Russian modules allow for pre-training operations that the crew will have to perform in space.
Kononenko and Grebenkin also practiced moving along handrails, installing payload adapters, laying cables, and connecting electrical connectors.
Kononenko, who heads the Cosmonaut Training Center, has participated in five space missions and performed seven spacewalks with a total duration of over 44 hours. Grebenkin does not yet have experience in extravehicular activity.
