The spacesuit has a high degree of autonomy. It is rightfully called a mini-spacecraft. The name "Orlan-MKS" stands for "modernized, computerized, synthetic," which emphasizes its advanced characteristics.

One of the key innovations of the new spacesuit is the automatic temperature control system, which functions as climate control. It maintains the optimum temperature for the cosmonaut.

The system regulates the circulation of water in the cooling system located under the outer layer of the spacesuit. This significantly increases the comfort and safety of cosmonauts during long spacewalks.

The new spacesuit uses a polyurethane shell instead of a rubber one. This increases the reliability of the spacesuit. It is more durable and stronger. This is important for performing complex tasks in space.
