Certification tests of the import-substituted SJ-100 with tail number 97021 are continuing in Novosibirsk. The aircraft has already completed several flights, during which specialists are checking the operation of navigation equipment and the accuracy of its location determination, the Rostec press service reported.

VOR/DME radio beacon and distance measuring equipment is used for the tests. This stage allows evaluating the operation of onboard navigation systems in real flight and checking how accurately the aircraft determines its position relative to ground navigation aids.
Tests in Novosibirsk are part of the overall certification program for the import-substituted SJ-100. In parallel, another prototype aircraft, 97023, is undergoing checks in Belarus: in Minsk and Orsha, Yakovlev specialists have already tested the autopilot, automatic landing, and the aircraft's operation in about 100 modes at various speeds and weather conditions.
To conduct flights in the Novosibirsk area, the necessary airspace has been allocated, routes have been agreed upon, and air traffic services have been organized. Specialists from the regional center of the Unified Air Traffic Management System, the Novosibirsk Air Traffic Control Center, and PAO Yakovlev are participating in the work.
