Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, spoke about the possible consequences of blocking the Russian satellite constellation Rassvet. According to his assessment, such a blockade would mean the destruction of the constellation, which, in turn, could lead to a full-scale space war.

Blocking the Russian satellite constellation 'Rassvet' means only its destruction. And it will lead to a full-scale space war. I hope the Americans understand this. Because then their low-orbit 'Starlink' satellites will fall down like toys from a dried-up Christmas tree.
Rassvet is a Russian low-orbit satellite system being developed by Bureau 1440. The constellation is designed for broadband communication, and its satellites are equipped with inter-satellite laser terminals. The first 16 production spacecraft were launched into orbit in March 2026, and another package of satellites went into space in July.
In September, Pervy Tekhnichesky reported that Rassvet satellites are undergoing deployment and testing. The constellation's design orbit is about 800 km, the declared data transfer rate reaches 1 Gbit/s, and the signal delay should be less than 70 ms. However, the actual orbits of the first spacecraft have so far differed from the target altitude.
