Shipbuilders of Admiralty Shipyards officially handed over the sixth large freezer trawler (BMRT) "Mekhanik Shcherbakov" (project ST-192) to the customer — OOO "Russian Fishery Company" (RRPC). The state flag was raised on the vessel. This was reported by the press service of the St. Petersburg shipbuilding enterprise.
"Mekhanik Shcherbakov" is another trawler built under the state program "Quotas for Keel". Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev stated that the renewal of the fishing fleet helps strengthen Russia's status as a fishing power.
And it also means new jobs, opportunities for the development of related industries and coastal regions. Therefore, systematic work on the construction of the fishing fleet will continue.
First Deputy General Director of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (OSK) Andrey Buzinov noted that the crew of "Mekhanik Shcherbakov" will work on the most modern vessel. The BMRT is designed for pollock and herring fishing with waste-free processing of the catch on board.
The press service of Admiralty Shipyards emphasized that the new trawler surpasses all previously built fishing vessels of its class in terms of its technical characteristics. It will be operated in the Okhotsk and Bering Seas.
OOO "Russian Fishery Company" conducts economic activities in the Far East. The first 5 vessels of project ST-192 are also operated in this region. The construction of the eighth trawler "Alexander Buzakov" continues at Admiralty Shipyards.
