The "Progress MS-35" cargo ship is scheduled to depart for the ISS on September 16, 2026. The launch was delayed by a week due to a malfunction of the third stage of the "Soyuz-2.1b" rocket, but the problem has been fixed, and the launch vehicle has been returned to the launch pad.

The launch is scheduled from pad 31/6 of the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan at 13:33 UTC, the article states. The launch time is linked to the position of the ISS orbit. This allows the ship to be quickly put into the correct trajectory and dock with the station.

The head of Roscosmos, Dmitry Bakanov, emphasized that the launch could take place this week.

Initially, "Progress MS-35" was planned for launch on September 9. However, after a malfunction was discovered in the third stage of the "Soyuz-2.1b", the rocket was returned to the assembly shop. The problem was fixed there, after which the launch vehicle was sent back to the launch complex.

The rocket's height is 46.3 m, and its liftoff thrust is 4550 kN. The "Soyuz-2.1b" is capable of delivering up to 8670 kg of payload to low Earth orbit.

The upcoming launch will be the sixth launch of the "Soyuz-2.1b" in 2026 and the 105th in the entire history of this rocket's operation. The "Progress MS-35" itself has a launch mass of 7280 kg.

The ship will deliver up to 2600 kg of cargo to the ISS. The pressurized compartment contains food, scientific equipment, and technology for servicing the station. In addition, the ship will bring fuel, drinking water, and gases to replenish the ISS atmosphere.

The length of "Progress MS-35" is 7.4 m, and its diameter is 2.7 m. After reaching orbit, the ship will deploy a 10.7 m long solar panel, which will provide the spacecraft with electricity.
