Buk-M3 anti-aircraft missile systems have become an effective means of destroying any aerial targets, including HIMARS, Storm Shadow, and Flamingo missiles. The latter are considered one of the easiest targets, NTV reported.

Anton Medzhitov, commander of the Buk-M3 crew, noted that "Flamingo" missiles try to hide from anti-aircraft radars, but they fail and have to climb higher.

They climb a little higher, accordingly, we detect them at this altitude and destroy them.

Most of the time, the complex hides in a well-camouflaged "garage" — as they call a huge pit in a forest belt — and begins to operate after receiving a signal.

Earlier it became known that A-50U AWACS aircraft also proved effective in detecting "Flamingo" missiles. The air surveillance range reaches 800 km.

Recall that the Buk-M3 hits aerial targets flying at speeds up to 3 km/s, at an altitude of up to 35 km and a distance of up to 70 km.
