Buk-M3 SAM system crew turned HIMARS MLRS shells into dust: combat footage

Crews eliminated hundreds of downed aerodynamic targets

The Russian Ministry of Defense has shown footage of the combat work of the Buk-M3 anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) crew on the line of combat contact.

The department noted that the Buk-M3 is on round-the-clock combat duty in the areas of troop concentration.

The crews are credited with hundreds of downed aerodynamic targets, including rockets from the American HIMARS system, Storm Shadow and ATACMS missiles.

Buk-M3 is a medium-range air defense system. The complex is designed to combat maneuvering aerodynamic targets, engage surface targets, and fire at radio-contrast ground targets in conditions of intense electronic and fire counteraction. Thanks to the new missile, the Buk-M3 is almost twice as good as previous models and has no analogues in the world.

The complex includes an illumination and guidance radar capable of detecting a cruise missile at a distance of up to 40 km and an altitude of 10 m. The Buk-M3 is capable of engaging air targets flying at speeds up to 3 km/s at altitudes from 5 to 35 km and ranges from 2.5 to 70 km.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the Kabardino-Balkaria ship with an RBU-6000 rocket launcher and torpedoes destroyed targets in the Baltic.
