The Russian Aerospace Forces have at least 10 heavy military transport aircraft An-124 "Ruslan" in service. This data was reported by "Tekhnosfera Rossiya" with reference to specialized foreign studies.

Foreign sources also claim that the Aerospace Forces have more than 110 Il-76 aircraft, including Il-76MD-90A, at least 44 An-12s, and up to 120 An-26 units.
It should be noted that these calculations are not officially confirmed by Russian official sources. The size of the air fleet within the Aerospace Forces is not disclosed.
Earlier, it became known why it is impossible to revive the production of "Ruslans" in Russia. The necessary technical base has been destroyed, and almost no competencies remain.
According to open data, a total of 56 "Ruslans" were built, and the current number of flying aircraft regularly changes. Some aircraft are decommissioned, while others return to service after repairs.
